1. On this website
- No cookies, no advertising trackers, no accounts. The site loads nothing from other companies, with one exception you choose: ContextWire’s page shows our videos as pictures, and only when you press play does YouTube’s player load (from youtube-nocookie.com). From then on YouTube (Google) sees your visit to that video, under its own privacy policy.
- We count visits with Umami, which we run ourselves on our own server. It uses no cookies. For each visit it records the page (without anything after a
?or#in the address), the site you came from, your browser, system, device type, screen size, language and country, and a few clicks: a download, “i want this”, starting or completing a purchase (how many seats and the currency only). Your network address is used to work out the country and a visitor number scrambled with a secret that changes regularly, and is not stored. If your browser sends Do Not Track, you are not counted at all. - “i want this”: when you press it we keep that someone did, counted once per person with a scrambled fingerprint of your network address. The address itself is not kept. Press it again to take it back.
- If you leave an email address under a product, we keep it to write to you once, the day that product (or the download for your system) is ready. The link under the box removes it.
- The site runs behind Cloudflare, which handles every request and sees your network address, as any web host does.
2. In ContextWire
- To start the 30 free days and to activate a licence, ContextWire sends three scrambled identifiers of the computer, its own version, the name of the operating system and, when you enter one, the licence key. The real identifiers never leave the computer. We keep them to give each computer one trial and to count a licence’s seats.
- To look for updates it asks this site for the newest version. That request carries nothing about you or the computer.
- Nothing about your sessions, prompts, files, code or anything else you do in ContextWire is ever sent to us. Phone access, if you switch it on, runs between your own devices; it does not pass through us.
3. When you buy
- We keep your name, email address, phone number (only when Razorpay needs one, for payments in dollars), the number of seats, the price and currency, the country Cloudflare reported for your connection, the version of the terms you agreed to, and Razorpay’s references for the payment.
- Razorpay takes the payment on its own page. Your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay and never reach us. Razorpay’s own privacy policy applies to what you give it.
- The licence key and the receipt are emailed to you by Lucidloom’s notification service through ZeptoMail (by Zoho), which therefore sees your email address and the mail.
4. What we never do
We do not sell or rent your data, show you ads, or share it with anyone except the services named above, and authorities when the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
- Purchase records: as long as Indian law requires accounts to be kept (eight years).
- Licence and trial records: as long as the licence or trial can be used, then as part of the purchase record.
- An email address left under a product: until we have written that one message, or until you remove it.
- The site’s request logs: a few days, for keeping the site running.
- Visit counts in Umami: kept as statistics; they hold no name, email address or network address.
6. Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted where the law does not require us to keep it, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Write to [email protected], or to our grievance officer, Shwetank Shivhare, at [email protected]. If a complaint stays unresolved you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Security and children
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS), is stored on our own server, and the parts that could identify a computer are scrambled before they leave it. ContextWire is a tool for developers and is not meant for children; we do not knowingly collect children’s data.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with its date. The licence terms say the same about ContextWire in section 7.
